Wycliffe Psalm numbering in Compare Translations
The Wycliffe Bible was translated from the Latin Vulgate, which numbers the Psalms differently from the Hebrew/Masoretic numbering the other seven translations on this site use. The Vulgate merges Psalms 9-10 (Masoretic) into a single Psalm 9, then runs one chapter number behind the Masoretic numbering through Psalm 147, which splits back into two Vulgate chapters before both traditions realign at Psalm 148. Psalms 1-8 and 148-150 are numbered identically in both traditions; Psalms 9-147 are not the same chapter-for-chapter. To avoid comparing mismatched content under the same chapter number, the Compare Translations tool leaves Wycliffe out of the picker for Psalms 9-147.
