Psalms 15 GNV
Summary: A brief wisdom psalm structured as question and answer, Psalm 15 asks who may dwell on God's holy hill and sojourn in his tent (v. 1), then answers with an ethical checklist rather than a ritual one: walking blamelessly, speaking truth, not slandering, honoring oaths even to one's own hurt, and refusing bribes against the innocent (v. 2-5). It reflects the entrance-liturgy tradition in which worshipers were examined before approaching the sanctuary. The one who does these things, it concludes, "shall never be moved" (v. 5).
1A Psalme of Dauid. Lord, who shall dwell in thy Tabernacle? who shall rest in thine holy Mountaine?
2He that walketh vprightly and worketh righteousnes, and speaketh the trueth in his heart.
3He that slandereth not with his tongue, nor doeth euill to his neighbour, nor receiueth a false report against his neighbour.
4In whose eyes a vile person is contemned, but he honoureth them that feare the Lord: he that sweareth to his owne hinderance and changeth not.
5He that giueth not his money vnto vsurie, nor taketh reward against the innocent: hee that doeth these things, shall neuer be moued.
